Lot 3-pc Chinese Rose Medallion Bowls and Saucer Late Qing/Republic

Very intricate hand painted bowl and saucer Rose Medallion trio that are colorful and delicate.

 

Three porcelain pieces have been hand painted in polychrome enamels with gilt accents. They have shallow foot rings that aren’t glazed. The bases are glazed.

 

One bowl has MADE IN CHINA stamped in iron red in a cartouche on the base. This is the newest, most likely 1920s or 30s. The other two are probably late 19th century.

 

 

Smaller bowl – 4 5/8” (11.7 cm) diameter x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) tall.

Larger bowl – 5 1/8” (13.0 cm) diameter x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) tall.

Saucer – 5 ¼” (13.3 cm) diameter x 15/16” (2.4 cm) tall.

Weighs 1 lb 1.2 oz (490 g)

 

 

There are no cracks, breaks, chips or repairs on all three pieces. There are a few glaze frits and wear to the gilt on the mouth rims. The gilding on the bodies show only slight wear. There is also very little wear to the enamels except for light wear to the pale green used on the tendrils, as well as the black outlining. This is most noticeable on the large bowl.
