A heavy hand potted Japanese bowl meant for domestic use with a dynamic and pretty blue transfer pattern of brocade panels mixed with floral panels.

A heavy hand potted bowl with potter’s ring marks on the base that has been decorated with a medium cobalt blue transfer. The bowl has a flat mouth rim, nearly vertical sides and an expansive inner well. The base bluish glaze is thick, smooth and looks shiny. The design is of brocade cloth panels, flower panels, and geometric shapes. The back is also decorated with peony scrolls spaced equidistant from each other. The bowl has a cut shallow foot and an unglazed circular base with a glazed center circle.
 
There are no marks or labels.
 
MEASUREMENTS
 7 ¾” (19.7 cm) diameter x 2 1/8” (5.4 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 5.2 oz (600 g)
 
CONDITION  
 There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. There is a glaze concussion that has yellowed on the outside of the bowl towards the bottom. There are kiln flaws such as smudges, light areas, bumps and blue spots. The colors are still bright with little wear in the central well.
  
An exotic bowl that will add to a statement of blue and white. It will add color and substance to any décor.
