A colorful Victorian aesthetic movement plate design patterned after travel in a sailboat on the sea.

The central transfer design is of a sailing vessel with large sunflower-inspired geometric flowers appearing to grow out of the frame. The flower heads are integrated into an intricate border. The design is in various shades of brown on a cream-colored glaze.

The lightweight ceramic has been molded with a shallow well and has a shallow rounded unglazed foot.
A mark on the base reads BROWNFIELD & SONS TRADEMARK WISCONSIN and a pair of globes. There are also three marks stamped in the clay.
