An antique Chinese teapot with much hand work, a classic shape, and an aged patina.

The copper clad teapot that has hand-tooled designs of lotus. The lid has a wire handle with lotus pod finials. The handle is bronze and moves. It attaches to the teapot through two holes on a bronze posts on the shoulder of the shoulder of the teapot. The foot is shallow. The interior is shows a gray tin metal. The teapot has a nice brown patina from age and usage.

There is the stamped word CHINA on the center of the base.

MEASUREMENTS

5 ¼” (13.3 cm) diameter x 5” (12.7 cm) tall. 7” (17.8 cm) tall with handle extended. Weighs 15.2 oz (435 g)

CONDITION

There is one small dent and one larger dent on the body, and the teapot is missing a second handle. The existing handle stands up on its own. The patina is uneven in places and the bright copper shows through in a few places that have worn. There is light rust around the base both inside and out.
