The casting is deep and detailed. The base is flat and shows remnants of old green felt. The number 1008 is cast on the back above the base.

The bookend was produced by the Judd Company of Wallingford, CT circa 1920. Judd was well known for their still and mechanical banks, as well as cast iron door stops.

There are no breaks, dents, cracks, or repairs. The enamels show wear with missing spots, but are still mostly intact.
