A large antique Chinese pot or jar with a deep cobalt blue hand painted lotus scroll design encircling the pot.

The porcelain hand thrown pot has applied handles for hanging. The mouth rim is not glazed as is the shallow foot ring. The body glaze is so very smooth. The body glaze has a light blue cast to it.

Please note that we are also listing another smaller jar with a very similar design. A pair would be very attractive. If you are interested in both, please let us know and we'll offer a discount.

7 3/4 “ (19.7 cm) diameter x 6 1/8” (15.6 cm) tall. Weighs 3 lbs 2.4 oz (1430 g)

There is an old rim chip to the foot and three concussion marks. The concussion marks are much more visible from the inside than on the outside. There bottom of foot is soft and smooth from wear. There is wear and discoloration to the inside. The pot is old and well used. There are kiln flaws, such as black spots and glaze imperfections throughout. There is also a hairline that runs a short distance along the rim; this is likely also a kiln flaw. There are multiple glaze misses especially on one side of the interior. The lid is missing.

A well painted blue and white Chinese porcelain to add to a collection or upgrade your display of blue and white.
