A very large doorstop in the shape of a cocker spaniel with very deep molding even down to the curls.
 
The molded pottery dog has been glazed in a thin brown glaze that flows and shows the underlying yellow ware. The glaze feels very soft and has a shiny look. The base has a flat raised foot with a glazed inner base. There is a hole in the base for firing. The foot edge is covered in a very old worn brown felt.
 
MEASUREMENTS
 
10 ¾” (27.3 cm) tall x 8 ¾” (22.2 cm) wide x 5 ½” (14.0 cm) deep. Weighs 5 lbs 5.4 oz (2145 g)
 
CONDITION
 
There are a few chips on the edge of the base and a couple of glaze frits on the body. The dog is shiny and looks fresh and bright.
 
A dog with a good look that you could use to hold open a door or to be safe you might just keep him on the mantle.
