A colorful, intricate, and delicate table screen with an old pretty floral porcelain plaque and a very well-carved rich red wood mount from the Republic era. The wood screen carving is so very well-rounded and well-balanced.

A thin rectangular porcelain plaque depicts a flowering rose bush or camellia using iron red, green, and blue over-glaze enamels. Black has been used to outline and accent. The porcelain is old showing glaze imperfections such as small pimples and a black spot.

The porcelain has been mounted in a tropical hardwood stand. The wood is finely grained and has probably been stained with a red color.  The carving is well-rounded and very intricate. You can see tool marks inside the intricate lattice. There are four dragon heads with the pearl of wisdom equidistant on the outer frame. The carving is exacting with no mistakes.

There is a portion of a Chinese export wax seal on the plaque. There is the number “10” on the inside screen mount.
