Product variants

A large and heavy blue and white charger with a phoenix flying above waves with a cherry blossom border. It was an early stencil attempt for the local Japanese market. The design is very intricate for a stencil. The cobalt used is a soft medium blue. There are floral blue stencil designs on the underside.

The charger has a crimped edge covered with an iron dressing to prevent chipping. The foot is rounded and unglazed with a single saggar mark in the center of the base.

MEASUREMENTS

12” (30.5 cm) diameter x 1 ¾” (4.4 cm) tall. Weighs 3 lb 2.4 oz (1425 g)

CONDITION

There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. There is wear the decorations in the well.
