Two Chinese jades from the Ming dynasty that would have been sewn on a garment.
The thinly carved very pale green - almost white - jade has been shaped to look like a plum blossom. The jade has inclusions and translucence. They have a soft hand polishing with a tiny hole in the center for attachment. The backs are flat.
MEASUREMENTS
Larger blossom - 1 5/16” (3.3 cm) diameter
Smaller blossom 1 3/16” (3.0 cm) diameter
Total weight 0.5 oz (15 g)
CONDITION
The smaller floret has missing points on the edges of several petals. The larger floret has small chips to the edges. Given the age and that they were probably dug up, the condition is still quite good.
A great pair of Ming jade flowers to add to a collection or repurpose them into jewelry.
