A classic Ming-style small Chinese bronze censer with a Xuande reign mark and a hand tooled design of dragons chasing the pearl of wisdom.
 
The heavily cast bronze censer has loop handles and three pointed feet on the base. The censor has a six-character Xuande reign mark molded and a tooled CHINA mark on the base. The reign mark is crudely detailed.
 
MEASUREMENTS
 
4” (10.2 cm) wide x 3 ½” (8.9 cm) diameter x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) tall. Weighs 8.4 oz (240 g)
 
CONDITION
 
There are no breaks, cracks, repairs, or dents. There are some black areas in the well from use. The bronze has some spotting from oxidization. The patina is aged but it isn’t brown yet.
 
A small, classically-inspired censer from the Republic Era to use or decorate with. It would look nice on a desk or shelf.
