A molded ceramic plate with a pale blue transfer pattern of a woman standing in a faraway pavilion.

The cavetto of the lightweight plate is decorated with arabesques, urns, and romantic couples. The central well is a transfer of pillars, faraway pavilions, and a woman leaning against a balustrade. She is deep in thought.

The base is glazed. A transfer on the underside in blue reads “IRONSTONE J. CLEMENTSON” and the number “17”. There are some letters under an eagle that I can’t read.

MEASUREMENTS
7 ½” (19.0 cm) diameter x 7/8” (2.2 cm) tall. Weighs 10.2 oz (290 g)

CONDITION
There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. There is glaze fritting on the mouth edge and wear to the central well. There is discoloration underneath near the rim. There are kiln flaws, such as smudges, bumps, reserves, and a few black spots.

An antique Staffordshire plate that will add a touch to many decors.
