A vintage necklace made from Chinese Peking glass beads and antique Guatemalan Real coins.
A necklace made from 11 Guatemalan Real coins, 3 Guatemalan ½ Real, and 116 Chinese Peking glass beads an one metal bead. All of the Peking glass beads are white except for one turquoise bead.
The beads are all sized irregularly. The coins are dated between 1900 and 1912 and are copper-nickel (approximately 75% Copper, 25% Nickel). They have been drilled for the necklace. The beads and coins are strung on an old cotton string.
MEASUREMENTS
Hangs 13 ¼” (33.7 cm). The beads range from 44 mm to 7 mm in diameter. Weighs 3.2 oz (85 g)
CONDITION
There are holes drilled in the coins with one or two having dents where they were drilled. Three beads have cracks. The other beads are in good shape with no breaks or chips. Many beads have a few imperfections in their shape, as well as soiling.
