A detailed and fanciful wood carving of a Chinese immortal riding a deer.

A heavy, reddish, hard tropical wood has been carved in a design of an immortal with produce in a basket slung over his back. The deer has been given a treat from the basket. The deer and immortal both have glass eyes. The deer rests on a carved base that resembles a rock.

There are three characters carved into the base.

MEASUREMENTS

4 ¼” (10.8 cm) wide x 1 ½” (3.8 cm) deep x 6” (15.2 cm) tall. Weighs 7.9 oz (225 g)

CONDITION

There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. The immortal is missing one of his glass eyes.

A detailed carving with nice, rounded carving of the robe and saddle blanket. I like the little round star spots of the deer.
