Large Antique Molded Staffordshire Transferware Teacup and Saucer

This two-piece cup and saucer set from Staffordshire, England features a band of poppies. The center of the saucer has a complex floral medallion with a poppy. The teacup has a string of garland molded into the lower portion, and a simple landscape scene on the inside. The set is antique and has a very tasteful and charming Victorian style.

The teacup has no trademarks or labels, but the saucer does have one on the back of its cavetto. It has bled badly and I cannot make it out other than it’s an oval with a crown on top. There are illegible words within the oval.

CONDITION

The teacup has no cracks or chips. It does have some grit on the foot. The saucer has one hairline extending from the edge, one large repaired rim chip with a hairline extending from it, and one tiny rim chip with a small hairline. There is crazing to the saucer but very little on the teacup.
