Miniature Child’s C.E. & M Fishers Pattern Transferware Plate circa 1865

A ceramic child's or doll plate with a pretty bucolic design of children fishing along a river with cattle wading in a river in the background. The plate has been decorated with a transfer pattern in rich colors.

The border is a dark blue dot rim with a dark and light blue border of hearts below this. The plate has a very shallow foot. The back has the manufacturer's stamp of C. E. & M. and the pattern name FISHERS. C.E. & M is Cork, Edge, and Malkin.

MEASUREMENTS
3 7/8” (9.8 cm) diameter x ½” (1.3 cm) tall. Weighs 2.1 oz (60 g)

CONDITION
There are no breaks, chips, or cracks. There is crazing of the glaze. There are also kiln flaws such as bumps, transfer misses, and what looks like a chip on the rim – it is a kiln flaw because it is glazed. One other area looks like a glaze miss on the rim edge.
