Victorian Food Mold Dark Brown 19th Century

The heavy iron stone ceramic food mold has a fluted edge and a round seed-like design that will impress into the top of the jelly or pudding. The inner and outer mold has a dark reddish brown glaze color. The base a has raised foot and an unglazed inner base. The unglazed base has fine lines. The glaze feels thick, soft, and looks shiny.

MEASUREMENTS
6 ¾” (17.1 cm) long x 5 ¼” (13.3 cm) wide x 3 5/8” (9.2 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 5.7 oz (615 g)

CONDITION
The base has two large chips along the rim. The base has several small chips. The fluted edge has some nicks, but these light kiln flaws because they are glazed over.

I love the patterns on these utilitarian food molds. I rest them on their sides on shelves to see the patterns.
