A colorful and happy porcelain 19th century Chinese figure of a boy holding a ruyi scepter and pomegranate. It was used to hold incense sticks.

The molded figurine of a kneeling boy is glazed in bright and vivid polychrome enamels. I love the details of the face. His lips are a bright red, and eyes are filled with character. There is a hole in the cap on his head, two holes in the back, and his mouth is pierced.

The base is flat and unglazed. There are no marks or labels.

MEASUREMENTS

3 7/8” (9.8 cm) wide x 2 3/8” (5.9 cm) deep x 7” (17.8 cm) tall. Weighs 13.7 oz (395 g)

CONDITION

The ruyi head is chipped on one edge, there are chips on the fingertips, and there is a hairline crack on the collar. Otherwise the figure looks entire.

A detailed and fun figurine that was used to hold incense sticks. A great character piece to add to your collection or décor.
