Chinese Republic Era Jade, Sterling, Carved Quartz Strand Partial Necklace

 

The necklace strand is comprised of 7 carved rose quartz beads, 5 carved green quartz beads, two nice green jade beads and a pink quartz pendant carved in the shape of pomegranates. The beads have small clear crystal spacer beads. The longest links of the chain have solid centers with enameling. The frame around the pendant is stamped “STERLING”.

 

The necklace is missing a length.

 

 

Necklace - 21” (53.3 cm) long.

Oval quartz medallion - 1 5/8” (4.1 cm) x 7/8” (2.2 cm).

Carved pink quartz beads - 12 mm diameter.

Carved green quartz beads – 10 mm diameter

Jade beads - 8 mm diameter.

Weighs 2.0 oz (60 g)

 

 

The strand is missing a section and has no closure. The beads and pendant have cracks or chips. The gold patina and enamels on the chain links have worn, but all links but one are intact and straight. One link is a bit bent.

A strand of old, colorful beads and pendant that could be either repaired or recycled into a new necklace.
