Chinese Republic Era Pale Grey Green Jade Hand-knotted Bead Necklace with 14K Gold Clasp

A 21” long, vintage jade bead necklace that was imported from China in the 1940’s. The 56 graduated hand knotted beads are a very pale grayish green, almost white and have a nice soft polish. The beads are very well matched in color. A few beads have very pale russet skin-colored spots.  The clasp is marked 14k and has a 40’s look.

Beads are between 5.5 and 8 mm in diameter

There are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. The cord is intact with some discoloration from age. It’s likely the original cord.

 

A necklace that has such a pale color that it would go very well with that little black dress.
