A colorful hand painted Staffordshire bowl from the late 19th century that is still bright and intact.
The molded ceramic bowl has been hand painted with a design of flowers and foliage. It has a red line at the lip with a shallow unglazed foot. The glaze is now very soft from age and use.
A black stamped mark on the base has a pair of rampant stallions with the words STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND underneath.
5 5/8” (14.3 cm) diameter x 2 ¾” (7.0 cm) tall. Weighs 10.3 oz (290 g)
There are no breaks, repairs, chips, or cracks. There is a small concussion mark and light crazing on the base. There are orange stains along portions of the rim and the foot. The outside of the bowl shows numerous wear scratches. The bowl has the customary manufacturing flows, such as black spots and bumps.
A pretty antique bowl to add to a Staffordshire collection.
