A colorful hand painted teapot that still has most of its gilding intact.

Both main reserves are of a flower basket with a butterfly hovering above. The front and back near the handle and spout are seaside scenes with a fisherman in a boat. Around the neck, as well as the edge of the lid are matching borders with delicate flowers. The red, green and blue are vibrant; they are accented with much gold gilding.

The shallow rounded foot has a nice fine white paste. The teapot is unmarked.

The matching lid has a knob finial which is gilded. The lid colors and design match the teapot body.

MEASUREMENTS

6” (15.2 cm) long x 3 ½” (8.9 cm) diameter x 4 ¾” (12.1 cm) tall. Weighs 11.1 oz (320 g)
