Victorian Cased Cranberry Blow Glass Bowl with Twisted Clear Glass Handle

A true tour de force of the glass blowers' art. The delicate shading of the colors and the delicate twisted clear glass handle are so a very smooth feeling.

A cased two-tone pink and white glass dish with a ruffled mouth that has a delicate twisted clear glass attached handle. The glass is so very smooth feeling even down to the polished pontil mark on the base. The pink glass on the top has a suffusing which darkens on the edge. There is a raised foot with a flat base.

MEASUREMENTS
6 ½” (16.5 cm) tall x 6” (15.2 cm) long x 5” (12.7 cm) wide. Weight 11.3 oz (320 g)

CONDITION
There is wear on the base edge. There is a tiny chip on the foot which you don’t see. The base is not totally flat which makes the piece rock a bit. Pads on the base would take care of that and protect surfaces. There is a manufacturing flaw on one side of the handle base. It is rough and may have chipped. There is a dark spot in the glass below the ruffle on one side by the handle. Overall, it is an old well-made artistic piece of glass.

I could hold this piece of glass all day because it is so very soft. Why don’t they make glass like this today? Dale Chihuly eat your heart out.
