A set of three carved wooden shoe match holders with strike plates from the 19th century. The three shoes are very similar with similar laces, shoe shape and even the hob nails underneath.

Two have an oval striker plate on the side. The third (with a chip) has a rectangular spot for the striker. They were all hand carved and may have been manufactured in Germany’s Black Forest. One has a green and white paper price tag. One shoe has a shiny finish while the other two do not.
