A small Japanese Imari that is hand painted and has age.
The small dish is painted in under glaze cobalt with iron red and gilt. It has an unglazed foot ring, and an old retail paper label that reads “No. A-59 ANTIQUE over 100 years old JAPAN.“ The label has yellowed from age.
4 1/8” (10.5 cm) diameter x 1” (2.5 cm) tall. Weighs 4.8 oz (135 g)
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repairs. There is wear to the gilding and light surface scratches  throughout. There is one drop of what appears to be a drip of glaze at the edge of the cavetto that shows some pitting under magnification.
An old Japanese sauce dish with character and age.
