An ornate and hand-worked porcelain bowl that has been elevated with a splayed foot support. This may have been a wedding gift as the base has a pair of mandarin ducks, a symbol of a faithful marriage.
A porcelain bowl has been fired with a round support. The support is decorated with lotus pads, mandarin ducks, lotus stems and a seed pod. The bowl has been decorated with lotus pads with incised lines at the mouth and two lotus flowers about to open. The glaze on the piece is not brilliant white but has an off-white color.
The glazed base has an unglazed rounded foot. The base has a hole in the center for firing. You can see the white clay that was used. The bowl is not marked.
