A brass brush pot with an auspicious dragon that has seen some age. The brass has taken on a nice brown patina.

The tooled brass cylindrical brush pot has etched scrolling on the mouth and above the base. Mid-way on the cylinder is an applied medallion with a relief of a dragon encircling two Chinese characters for good fortune and happy life. There is one ridge lines at the shoulder and one just above the base.

The brush pot has a very shallow foot with no labels or hallmarks.

2 ¼” (5.7 cm) diameter x 6” (15.2 cm) tall. Weighs 7.2 oz (200 g)

The brush pot has multiple dents on the base and foot, but it still rests flat on a surface. It has a shallow dent on the back of the body, as well. The patina is uneven and light verdigris along the edges of the applied medallion.

An auspicious dragon and words of luck for the owner of this brush pot that will be much appreciated.
