A Chinese Ming pale green Jade carved in the shape of a lotus blossom that has been repurposed in a Chinese gilded silver wire brooch with turquoise and deep blue enameling.

The original use of the jade was for a button or cloth embellishment. It has a hole in the center for attachment. The jade is a clear pale green jade with few inclusions and a soft hand polished finish.

The pin back has a rotating clasp and the word SILVER on it.

1 11/16” (4.3 cm) wide x 1 1/16” (2.7 cm) tall x ¼” (.6 cm) thick. Weighs .8 oz (25 g)

The jade is in excellent condition. There are tiny losses to the enamel, as well as moderate wear to the gilding on the silver.

An antique piece of Chinese jewelry with much hand work and a repurposed ancient jade as the focal point.
