An octagonal porcelain bulb pot with scenes of a mother and child in a garden. The faces and scene show so much character and emotion.

There is a key fret pattern in blue and a band of prunus flowers in iron red at the mouth, with a line of gilding along the rim. The overall white glaze shows an orange peel bumpiness in the central well.

The pot is very heavily-potted. It has short diagonal feet at each corner of the base. The bottoms of the feet are not glazed but the base is. There is a stamped reign mark in Zhuanshu script for the Jiaqing emperor in iron red on the center of the base.
