A colorful polychrome enamel lidded food container that was saw regular use.

The molded bowl with a matching lid that is colorfully decorated with various plants such as lotus, prunus, and roses. The lid has a cylinder knob with a dressing of iron around the edges. The bowl base has a shallow unglazed cut foot. The base is glazed.

There is a stamped iron glaze mark in Zhuanshu script on the base. There is a portion of another mark in the well of the knob that is impossible to read.

MEASUREMENTS

4 ¾” (12.1 cm) diameter x 5 ½” (14.0 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 0.9 oz (480 g)

CONDITION

There are several small chips inside the rim on the lid and body. They aren’t visible when the lid is on. There are no other cracks, chips, or breaks. There are kiln flaws, such as black spots, grit on the foot, bumps and pin hole reserves.
