A pair of richly colored vases with an autumn theme, an artistic sensibility and experienced, skilled workmanship.
The pair of vases have wired enameled designs of Japanese maple leaves on a pigeon blood ground. The design starts on one vase and continue on to the next vase. The vases are in the tōmeiyū shippō (透明釉七宝) style, with wired cloisonne on transparent enamels. The base metal is stippled.
The vases have silver colored metal foot rings and mouths. The foot rings of both vases are marked JAPAN SATO with a mon next to it. This is the Ando Sato era mark.
