Single Bookend Field Gleaners K & O Company Circa 1925

A very heavy metal bookend with a design of women in a field picking up or gleaning the leavings in a field of wheat with a village and wagon with horses in the background. The design has been polychromed and the women have colorful hats and dresses. 
 
The mixed-metal bookend was given a gold-colored patina. The back has a geometric floral pattern. The base is flat with an old green felt. A manufacturer's mark on the lower back above the base reads K over an ovoid O and this is within an oval cartouche. This is the hallmark for the K & O Company.

CONDITION
 
There are no breaks, cracks, or dents. There is patina loss with small patches that show silver on the front and top edge. The felt is starting to loosen.
 
A great bookend that will hold up your books. It is very heavy.
