Vintage Enid Collins Purse Road Runner Design Copyright 1966

A nostalgic and collectible original Enid Collins purse with a road runner design that has that bejeweled bling.

 

A leather trim, canvas body and wood base has been transformed into a purse. It has been decorated with resin beads and gold braid trim. The main design is of a road runner with floral accents. The purse has a zippered pocket inside with an open pocket below. A leather tongue attaches to the front swivel latch to keep the purse closed. Leather straps are firmly attached to the top. The base is stained wood attached by brads.

 

The letters “e”, “c” followed by the copyright mark are printed in white on an outside corner. The other edge has the word roadrunner. The interior pocket has the words “Collins of Texas” with a horse above embossed in gold. The interior also has the printed words COPYRIGHT 1966 ENID COLLINS.  

 

 

11” (27.9 cm) long x 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) wide x 10 ½” (26.7 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 7 oz (650 g)

 

 

There are no breaks, rips, tears, or repairs. Some of the beads have lost some of the silver backing. There is some wear on the wooden base from being set down, and there is slight wear to the leather straps and trim. The canvas body is in good shape with no big stains or losses. There is a bit of an old perfume smell in the interior. Overall, the purse looks great for its age.
