A high quality vintage Dresden square porcelain plate or bon bon with vibrant and artistically detailed hand painted florals and gilt detailing on a bright white ground. The dish has a wide reticulated rim with a gently scalloped and gilded edge -- framing a mixed floral bouquet in shades of purple , orange, yellow & pink at center. Back is marked with blue "Schumann" under lion in shield with crown, along with a second stamp J.H.V Dresden, a raised 4-pointed star and a handwritten production number “7269”
Compatible with Schumann's "Empress Dresden Flowers," "Dresden Line," "Old Dresden" and others. While each pattern is unique, with varying designs on the rim, at center, and gilt design, the floral theme is consistent. No two patterns are the same, yet each works with the next. Highly sought after and collected.
