Vintage Mid Century Black Panther TV Lamp Planter 1950's

A classic TV lamp and planter from the fifties with an iconic black panther design.

 

A molded ceramic has been glazed with a black glaze. The base is hollow and has an unglazed flat foot. There is a sheet of turquoise fiberglass as a shade behind the panther and in front of the light bulb to diffuse the light. The base of the light services as a planter. The light switch is on the light socket. The cord is an old plastic electric cord that is fully intact.

 

There are no labels or marks.

 

 

6 5/8 in (16.8 cm) wide x 6 in (15.2 cm) deep x 8 3/8 in (21.1 cm) tall.   Weighs 3 lbs. 6.6 oz (1555 g)

 

 

The lamp works. It has no breaks, chips, cracks or repairs. There is a tiny glaze frit at the mouth of the planter mouth. A corner of the shade has come loose and the fiberglass shade has a few stains.    

 

We all need a black panther lamp for the jungle room.
